The Museum of Music is dedicated to inspire a lifelong love of music through interactive exploration and learning to kids and adults of all ages. The universal language of sound, rhythm, and melody is used to empower guests to learn about music in a fun and playful way.

Programs Used:

Adobe Illustrator

Figma

The design of the museum is inspired by the fundamental elements of music theory, focusing on key components such as pitch, rhythm, tempo, and harmony. The goal is to break down abstract concepts into visually engaging, hands-on experiences that allow visitors to "feel" music through interactive elements like sound sculptures, rhythm stations, and melody-building games.

Some Process Work

When I first started ideating and sketching, I wanted to have a big center room that branched off into the other rooms of the museum, but as I continued, I decided I wanted to create a more linear storyline.

I decided to make the shape of the building look like a whole note from the top down and started building my museum within the whole note restraint.

After selecting one room to do a deep dive into, I flushed out the design of the room on the sims and took pictures of the rooms from a person’s pov. I then took the photos into illustrator to mockup the wall graphics and insert people into the space.

For the visual identity of the museum, I decided to keep it vibrant and playful to capture the eyes of children and adults. I created a website that streamlines the experience of booking tickets and learning about the museum.
